I want to add a Wi-Fi Ethernet card to my Carputer. I was looking at the system requirements for several cards and they say that you have to have PCI Local BUS 2.1 compliance. I have a motherboard that I took out of an NEC computer and it has a Pentium II 450 Mhz processor. I've looked at the motherboard and can't find out the model number of the motherboard, so I can't look it up to see if it is compliant. How do I know whether my motherboard has PCI Local BUS 2.1 compliance?
I think it should be compliant, ask where youre buying the Wi-Fi card what their return policy is, and if you can test it and then return it if it doesnt work.
And/Or:
Find out what chipset is on the NEC board, then you can find the info about that, as to wether or not its compatable.
