    Hibernate/ Standby problem

    Hi

Please help if you can. My car pc is acting strange. Sometimes when i tell it to hibernate, it goes through the normal actions, you see the bar finish but the screen flashes and the pc comes back to the desktop. An icon the appears saying "The Input Output device detected an I/O error". When i try to hibernate again, the computer for some reason goes into standyby. I have to shut it down and reboot to have any chance of hibernating.

This does not happen all the time and has no pattern to it from what I can see. I have set it up to hibernate on power button press, so when i remove my key it automatically hibernates. This also only works some of the time. I have tried various rr settings to do with hibernate but don't really know what im doing.

    Thanks in advance...

    Try DevCon

Do a search for DevCon. It sounds like a USB device, likely a soundcard, is not responding properly to coming out of hibernation. DevCon will ensure that these devices start correctly from hibernation or standby.

If you are using a USB GPS, look into Xport, as it does the same thing as DevCon and is a little easier to configure.

    Cheers

    Can no-body help?

I have a Creative Soundblaster Surround 5.1 External USB Sound Card, usb gps (cant remember what model), and usb touch screen. I use xport to split the data from the gps to freedrive and milage plugin in roadrunner. I don't know what other settings are needed.

    Please help if you can.

Look at the list at the bottom of xport. Hit the little checkbox next to your audio device.
If it helps, leave it that way.
