HDD Media Player - whining noises

    Hi all,

Just a quick one really, i have now got a HDD media player but when connected by phono leads to my lcd screen and head unit in the car i get horrible whine from the alternator. This is only when the power is coming off the cig lighter in the car.

I know you can get a ground loop isolator for the audio leads but is the same possible for the video to reduce the interference?

    Thanks in advance

    Chris.

it will be an earth issue, so you could try either a power isolator or you can get ones for the audio leads too. (i would try the power filter first tho)

im assuming the lcd and the head unit are earthed to the same place, with a good earth?

Yeah they are both earthed well, the picture is fine on other sources, just this media player causing problems.

I have the isolater in the audio leads already and it has taken out the whining noise from them. Its jst the video that is fuzzy on the screen now and im assuming it is because the earth through the cigar lighter is not a good one?

Where can i get a power isolater or isolator for the video rca (like im using for the audio)?

    Thanks for your reply.

    Chris.
