    auto blind spot camera

I had this crazy idea today to hook up cameras in each of my blind spots, maybe the wheel wells will be a good place, and thought wouldn't it be cool if I could have my screen auto switch to the correct camera while signaling.
I have 3 inputs on my linitx screen other than vga and one of them is for my auto switching backup camera. Somehow I would have to get it to press input either once or twice depending on which direction I am signalling and then 1 or two more to go back to vga when done.

The other option I thought of was one of those IR backup beeping things on each side but I don't know how reliable that would be at an angle. I think cameras would be best.

I guess I could use my fusion brain to do it all but I would prefer a harware solution that doesn't require the pc running.

Has anyone done such a thing?

edit: I should have searched first :P Lane changing cams...
Although no real solutions there either.

I'm thinking I would be better off using the auto switching input that I already have working for the backup camera. That way I can use relays to switch which video source is getting fed to the screen when triggered.
Or maybe my backup camera actually covers my blind spots and all I will have to do is switch to it on signal. I know it is pretty wide angle so I'll have to test it out later.

    Again, wheel wells:

lol, if you want to do that, get a Tire Preasure Managment System. It will tell you speed, tempature, and air pressure. Infact there is a mod that allows you to intergrate it into your CarPC. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/hard...interface.html
