    UIR Problem

    Hi,

I built the UIR using PIC12C508A and TSOP1738. In my home computer it works very well, but in my new motherboard(M571 TX-PRO II, from PCChips) it insn't working.

I tried the original schematic, I tried to use a 7805 to regulate 5V for the circuit, I tried to use 5V from the power supply, but everything went wrong.

My UIR doesn't work in my new motherboard.

Com 1 and Com 2 are OK. My mouse works well in these ports.

    What could be wrong?

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,

    Diego Soares

some mother board com ports are soldered (9pin male) in different ways. (striaght or crossed)

So i suggest you remove the com1 strip wire connector from the mother board and use the strip wire connector of the working mother board.

    Let me know

The crossed way you are saying is:Flat cable 1-6-2-7-3-8-4-9-5 ?

    I will try...
But if my mobo needs a crossed cable and i'm using a straight cable, my mouse shoudn't work, OK? But works!

    It's very strange...

    Thanks again,

    It's working now!

I reduced the Receive and Transmit buffers in Advanced COM Port properties and tested. Now it's OK!

    Thanks for helping me.
