ok, it's been a couple of days now, and I think i want to make a move soon.
Because I cannot get any information regarding the Directed 5500 and 4500 preamps (if they are 4 channel discrete), i am thinking of going with an older plan.
What about getting two of the meq-800 model (Mobile Authority, 2 channel preamps), and connect their inputs to the output of a MVC? Do you think those preamps would put out enough power?
Also, where can i get the 6 channel MVC mentioned above? I have looked around, and have yet to find anything directly mentioning the item.
Thanks

I don't know if you overlooked this idea, but all that I did was use my sound card with the actual speaker-out, and just locked the volume to be slightly louder than line-in (I have the same problem with my head unit)... And it works like a charm, haven't had any problems with it.

I did not know that you could get a SB live value to output at speaker level.... can it do that?
-
I guess so, as it works... :D

Well, generally there are jumper settings on the sound board that switch between line level and speaker level output. I will look over some information about the cards, but i do not think that there is such a setting.

The MVC is designed to be a master preamp volume control. Check with Audio Control dealers to see if they still have one in stock.

Once again, my lack of knowledge shows through. When you say a "master preamp volume control", do you mean it has a preamp in it, or that it is there to control the level going in/out of a seperate preamp?

The MVC is a preamp, with a remotely mountable knob for volume control. Download the manual from Audio Control's website, and it should be more clear.

Thank you very much for your help. I looked over the PDF, although i was in a hurry, again, and i did not see anything about the preamp features.
Thanks

i just went through the PDF, and cannot find anything about signal preamp stuff. All i can find i signal attenuation, NOT what i want.
What do you think? Do i need an audio control Matrix?
