    Resetting S.M.A.R.T errors?

    Hi guys and girls!

I just have a quick question, I'm upgrading my pc some in the car and got my hands on a old maxtor disk with 80Gb of space... since thats twice the capacity of my old one I thought I would switch!
The problem is that at every boot I get a :
Sec slave Hard disk: S.M.A.R.T. Command failed
    Press F4 to continue
after pressing F4 it just goes on, I've checked the BIOS but cant find anywhere to turn it off (MB is a intel D845GBV BTW) so my last resort is to find some way of resetting the SMART info in the HDD, Any ideas?

I was able to "kind of" fix SMART by using the software on the Matrox site.

That is exactly what I used: had to install a floppy drive!

    No USB application yet?
