alphabetical order of mp3 files on USB

Does anyone know of a way to get windows to write files to a USB drive in the same order as they are on the computer? Currently, when I select a batch of folders (with audio files inside) say named A, B, C etc. and copy them to my USB drive to play in my car. they copy in reverse order, and then the player shows the list of folders in that reverse order. I want the player to show them in the correct alphabetical order. Currently I have to copy each folder and sub folder seperately in the order I want them to be. This takes way to long for 300 folders.

Copy them, right click in the USB drive window and click arrange icons by name. That should put them in alphabetical order.

Not sure if thats exactly what your problem is though.

Sorry guys, upd8 won't work as it's for mp3 players and this application is a usb thumb drive (32gb) plugged into a head unit in a car. The list display on head unit is the one. Windows writes folders when copied to teh usb drive in the reverse of the alphabetical names of the folders that reside on computer. The head unit reads the usb files in the order they are written.
I want to write them opposite the way windows default does it, which would be in alphabetical folder name order.
The other suggestion of arranging icons by name seems to be the default anyway so it has no effect on the order files are written.

    Huh?

Upd8 is for drive to drive sync'ing, be it on the same PC, seperate PC's on the same network, or USB thumb drives.

Which Upd8 did you try, and where did you get it?

    lol

    read post #3.

You can "write" the files in any order. Just arrange them by name.

    arrange by name

Arrange by name does not work. It organizes them by name while drive is plugged into computer, on the monitor they are then alphabetical, but unplug drive and connect to car head unit...back to the same unorganized way. Plug it back into computer and its off again.
