Anyone try the Intel D945GCLF (with integrated Atom 1.6Ghz CPU)

This is the new "Atom" processor as dubbed by Intel to kill Via and their product line

just curious if anyone has tryed this combo processor is a Intel Atom 230 @ 1x 1.60GHz (Silverthorne 45nm) and supposedly unlike the D201GLY2 which runs the processor at around 20 wats this one runs it at 2.05W and its only a few more dollars then the D201GLY2

Im interested in hearing if anyone has tryed this combo yet and how its working....

I just did an online chat with their online sales guy, Benjamin (IIRC) and they DON'T have it in stock yet.
Here in the U.S., we've been told that the earliest we can get a sample is June, whatever that means, probably END OF JUNE.

Adding insult to injury, we just got word from Intel that the D201GLY2 (Little Valley 2) is going end-of-life at the end of June (IIRC), which is a big bummer for us as we were planning to use thousands of those babies. I wish I were kidding. I'm not.

I am a new member here. I received the shipment from CarTFT this morning. But it will not be opened until I get home later this evening. I will post here my findings after I had some time to play with it.

what i like to know:

how mutch power for standby
how long is the bois post (without the windows part)
how quick to startup form scratch and suspend.
Are ther hickups with suspend mode.

I don't see how that "kills" the VIA product line.

It's still a mini-ITX, and VIA's benefit those who are restricted by space limitations. Someone tell Intel that nano-ITX is the way to go.

Well you get the picture....

I had some time to play with the board last Saturday and the experience was not good. I could not install linux/Vista/XP. All of them crashed during install. Only thing stable was DOS. May be, being new, I am doing something wrong. I treated it like a regular motherboard, added a keyboard, brand new SATA DVD drive, and a brand new SATA 500GB hard drive, and tried installing OS from a CD/DVD.
