    m1-atx problems

    Hi ppl,

Just installed my m1-atx and via epia mobo into the case. The problems i seem to be having is that it won't always turn the mobo on properly (the fans come on but won't bleep, nothing comes on screen) whilst other times it does work fine! When the mobo doesn't turn on properly switching the ignition off doesn't work, i have to disconnect the supply all together and try again!

As you can realise this is very frustrating and i dont want to install it into the car and find it doesn't work all the time!

Is there anything i can do?

    Thanks!

the M1-ATX is a pretty weak power supply (it can only provide 2A on the +12v rail)... are you sure it can handle your system?

    Brand and model #'s?
or is it a big secret?

You mentioned in the op that the mobo is via, probably ok.
3.5" hdd may be your problem. They use 12V. Try a laptop drive, which uses 5V instead to run.

Are you powering the screen or anything else from the M1?

well, at the moment the hdd is some unbranded rubbishy (1gb one!! can you remember the days when we only needed this much space?) trust me, its only temporary!
When i get my lappy drive, and a bootable SD i will see if the problem persists!
    Thanks
