Problem with SB 24 bit LIVE USB

Im not sure anyone else is having this issue, but I seem to, and its starting to bug me, I hope some1 can help.

I have a KINO-690S1. The sound card is once again a SB 24-bit LIVE USB. When I turn on the PC sometimes, I hear nothing. When I go to the sound mixer area, it will say "no audio device is dedected", I then have to unplug the soundcard and plug it back in to get it to work...... what would be causing this issue, and how do I fix it?

thats odd.. i've had that sound card for over a year now and its been rock solid for me.. i havent had any problems other than the low output voltage. Sounds like there's a fault in ur device definitely.

I wouldnt be surprised if I have some type of issue with it.... my whole install has had so much bad luck..... i think maybe it may be the USB ports... Im going to try to connect it to one of my HUBS. i notice that when i connect certain thing directly to the onboard USB, I have issues. The sound card worked perfectly on my VIA, and for 5 months it sat in a drawer, waiting for the KINO.

I would not recommend running something high-powered, such as a sound card, through a USB hub. If it is a powered hub, it might be OK, but a self-powered hub, I wouldn't even bother.

Both 7 port hubs are powered, plus its simply to trouble shoot. if i have the same issues while on the HUB then i can assume its the Sound Card. If it doesnt act up, then something is wrong with the USB ports on the KINO MoBo. I really wish that i could use like an external power adapter to power the card. I notice that devices that are powered on there own, and or are low powered seem to work good on the onboard USB ports. i think its odd that a MoBo would have such advanced features and abilities, but then insufficient powered ports. You guys dont think I will have a issue with sound quality if running from the hubs?

I only mentioned that because I tried to run my Stereo Sound Blaster USB card (not my 5.1 Live Card) off a self-powered hub, and it worked at first, but after about 1/2 hour, the quality started dropping. I unplugged it and threw it in a regular USB port, and it was fine.

Powered hub? you should be fine for testing.

Do you think maybe it could be a com port issue? Is the SB assigned a com port? Maybe when i start up the PC there is a com port conflict and unplugging and plugging back in fixes the issue.

First off are you doing full restarts or are you hibernating? The usb soundcard is an audio device and not com port.

I have a SB Audigy 2NX behind a 7-port hub and I would get the same thing as you, when I had my USB wintv stick plugged in and enabled. I rarely watch tv so i just disabled it on device manager and no problems with the soundcard showing up now.
