EPIA-M and Opus not booting up...

Connected my new Via Epia-M Mini-ITX mobo up to my new Opus Power supply and am running the whole thing from a Watson 13.8V DC 30Amp power supply to simulate the car battery.

When Opus Red and Black cables are connected to the Watson supply I'm getting a blinking green light which I think is ok.

When I connect the Yellow IGN switch cable to the +ve on the Watson the Opus stays on for a few seconds and then goes back to stand-by mode again and then continues to power up and shut down in a matter of seconds.

If I hold the "Power On" button on the keyboard I can get the Opus supply to stay running but nothing else happens. No leds on the keyboard or anything on the screen.

    Any help appreciated.

Just tried motherboard on my desktop PC case and power supply and it boots ok so problem must be with either the Opus or the supply that I'm using to power it...

i have a EPIA-M and opus so i want to hear that the two will work. Try the opus on the other MB and see if that works. It might turn out that the opus and EPIA-M don't play well together but lets hope not!

I'm waiting for my opus. I have the same setup. I spoke to Chris, at opus, before I ordered it and he said that they haven't had the chance to test the new EPIA however it should work. I hope it does because I am going to have the same setup.

    Ok.

Tried desktop power supply to EPIA-M and boots ok.

Tried Opus with desktop motherboard and boots ok.

Opus with Epia-M - get standby LED on Opus then when toggle ignition cable get two flashes on Opus and nothing on mobo.

Going to check the BIOS settings on EPIA....

Tried changing BIOS settings but no luck.

Tried Opus with desktop mobo and runs it and starts and stops as it should.

Tried desktop PS with EPIA-M and it boots ok.

Noticed that when I connect the OPUS to the battery I get a standby flashing green led which is ok. However as soon as I connect the EPIA-M to the Opus the green led fades and the motherboard can be switched on but doesn't boot...

I think I'll email Opus to see if they've seen this before....

Please keep ups posted, I have the last model EPIA and an opus and never could get it to work :/

I should email Kris again, but just haven't had time.

He's very helpful though. I feel that if its a faulty supply he'd replace it with no hassle.

    Quick update for anyone interested...

Dropped Notion a PM - he was running an Opus and an 800Mhz Eden. From the other thread it looks like he was selling his gear on so I don't know if he still is on this forum or not?

Got a mail back from Kris at Opus :

"We have not yet tested our power supply with the EPIA-M main board. It is an ATX style , so it should work. But, we will get a board and test the operation and I will get back to you with in few days.

    Regards,
    Kris."

Sods Law - get the best little motherboard on the market and the best power supply and the two won't work together....

I haven't ruled out "Operator Stupidity" though so I'll go and have another play until I can make it work....
