first carputer setup.

ok i have a 2004 mazda 6. and i want o put a carputer in it. my first question is- if i have a carputer can i still use the factory stereo if i wanted to, say like the original car's radio or the original car's cd payer?
now for the carputer, i dont need it to be extremely advanced, i just want something that would work well and last with as few as glitches as possible. i was looking at this site's stage 3 package-

is this a good package? will this last a while if setup correctly?
also with this i was looking at buy a nice little automatic compartment seen here-

this comes with a screen in it but i was planning on replacing it with a Xenarc screen and just using the compartment.
does this see like a good setup? any suggestion? any ideas on anything else i should get with it? or maybe like you think most the package is good but you would replace the power supply to a better one... any comments would help.
