Will this work for running video to a screen

sorry im new here, so if this is a dumb question im sorry

Rite now I have PS2 hooked up to a NTSC/PAL 6.4" LCD Screen in my dash. I want to take that out and run an AMD K6-2 300 that I have. From the looks of this cable it appears that I could just plug that into the monitor connection and run the RCA to my screen? Am I rite, or is that for a vid card that outputs TV signals through the monitor jack itself.

While I am not certain of what application that cable is for, there is no way the necessary parts to electrically convert your standard computer video card output can fit in any of the connectors on that cable. Downconverting VGA to NTSC is a fairly complex process, requiring a device known as a scan converter or scaler. These range in price from about $100 and up (waaaaay up, thousands of dollars for professional broadcast grade units).

I was almost 100% positive that I'd need either a scan converter or a Video Card with a composite TV out, but the I saw that and wondered.

    thanx

Im newly registered but have enjoyed this board for a while on and off, some nice contraptions being built, or all ready built!
