i have this board (it replaced my C7) and i can't be more happier with it. I too am not suffering from the 4 channel noise that other people are reporting.
I'm using 4 channels in my setup and I've not got any of the noise while booting...
I installed my carpc into my pet Kangaroo, mate.

I certainly plan on going the 4-channel route with a car pc in the nearby future. If it were to install a soundblaster card, would this resolve the 2-3 sec of noise, and constant whining?
Thanks!!
Why not use a serial port to turn on/off the Amp, this way you won't hear any noises when Windows XP boots and initializes the audio?
Thanks for the suggestion Blackstealth!
That would certainly be a cheaper option, however I don't believe that would solve the constant sound that some people are hearing. Along with my current subwoofers, I plan on upgrading the factory speakers so I really want the best possible solution. I would hate to spend all that money & for the factory sound to come out better.
I have a SB Audigy 2z(s?) Platinum blah blah in my current PC. I would certainly get alot more use out of it with the carPC if needbe. Although, I don't know if it would fit the mini-itx. hmmm...
Has anyone been playing FLAC on this board? If so, how is it performing?
I've considered using my Creative X-Fi sound card if I get static post boot. In my previous carpc, my creative card would get nasty alternator whine until the sound initialized during Windows boot, then it was clean. I could live with that. Does anyone have any experience using a PCI riser card or one of those flexible cables for a sound card with miniITX?
Wow, I am glad to hear that. Could you please share more details about your setup? What BIOS and audio driver versions you have installed. Do you have a delay before AMP is turned on?
I do have 1-2 seconds delay until PS starts my AMP, but that is not enough, it takes more time for the audio driver to load.
I'm using the latest BIOS (updated last weekend), however I never had the problem before the BIOS updated anyway. I'll have to check the Audio driver version, but it was the one straight off the CD when I got it.
I don't have any delay for the amp as it's connected to the amp output on the M2-ATX, which turns the amp on at the same time as the pc. The amp is on well before the post screen shows up.
