Got mine on eBay with the 30% off discount from live.com and it's killer! Got my nLite version of xp on it. Setup up minlogon and got a boot time of around 16 seconds. Not bad, but then I tested the standby for kicks and was blown away! It had XP (not all the way into RR) up and going in under 2 seconds.
Anyway, let me know if I should start a new thread, but can someone tell me how I can configure this board for 4.1 sound? I currently have it setup for 5.1, but since I won't have a center speaker in the car (at least not right away) I need 4.1. Thanks

Edit: oops I got the link wrong the first time, sorry
Thanks Crooper... but I"m not really sure what I'm looking at. I followed your link and see a few different links for video codecs, not sure which one you wanted me to follow... do they have audio drivers included that will allow me 4.1? Sorry if this is something I should already know, but I'm a Mac guy (I work in pro audio) so I'm starting fresh with most of this stuff!![]()
I think Crooper meant this link

That's what I use for my decoding and upmixing anyway![]()

OK, I was going to start a new thread after reading this one, maybe someone can shed some light on what the heck is going on with my motherboard, as I am quite confused.
I purchased the DG945GCLF from the mp3car store a few months back and have not really had a chance to mess with it until tonight. So I hooked up a simple system to try it out and threw damn small linux in the cd tray to do an initial boot. Upon booting from the CD the first thing I noticed is 2 penguins come up on the booting screen. Those that use linux will know the number of penguins displayed corresponds to how many processors (or cores) you are running. Strange I thought as I watched the verbose screen work. Upon probing the processor, sure enough it shows (2) "atom" cores both running at 1.6Ghz. So I am confused here as the manual, the board, the CD, and my receipt are all labeled DG945GCLF which is the model number for the single core board.
Did I just luck out? Perhaps someone at Intel or Mp3car made a mistake in packaging? I'm not really sure but I'm not complaining!
I will update more on my mystery board, just did that small test with linux tonight, going to try windows on it.

Sounds like hyper-threading to me - the dual core Atom 330 would show 4 penguins!
Turn off hyper-threading in the bios and you'll go from two penguins down to one.
