I do not use separate sound, this because it's nbot ableto do it inside Centrafuse. For me it's not a problem because I never use the GPS voice.

About my problem, does nobody have any idea why my system takes so long to start up when a second monitor is attached??

I did a run with bootvis, and there I can see that for about 80,90 seconds system is doeing nothing. There is no HD movement or drivers starting.
    Very strange.

... replacement HSF for the MCH...
I got one off ebayer 1jupiterway after mine failed inside 16 days, stationary build. See this pic that I sent 1jupiterway of my fitment:- http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...t=DSCN3746.jpg.
The original "T & T" fan supplied by Intel for the MCH is a joke (more later after I've dissected it but initial thoughts are a rearrangement of the words paper, like & thin. 3-years warranty? Hahahahahaha).

    Compatability with Morex 5667

Wanted to see if anyone has this motherboard installed in an Morex 5667 case (http://www.morex.com.tw/products/pro...php?fd_id=40)? Is the PSU that comes with this case more than sufficient to run this board off the mains?

Is there anyone who has their D945GCLF2 installed in a Morex 5677 case? If so have you had to modify/change the northbridge and/or CPU heat sinks? Is the 60W PSU that comes with the unit sufficient to run this motherboard?

Can someone who also uses a PCI VGA card tell me what his resuming times are from hibernation?

Today I did a clean XP installation, and chaged some thing in the BIOS, but still do not manage to improve my resuming time.
Right now my system takes this amount of time.

After power in up it takes:

    -6 seconds before screen reacts
-22 seconds to get the Intel Logo on my screen
-38 second to see the RESUMING FROM HIBERNATION screen
    and finally after

-49 seconds I see Centrafuse om my screen.

This as been messured at home. When systen goes back in to the car we need to add at least 5 seconds, this because powersupply M2-ATX waits that amount of time before giving any order to the mainboard.
taht means that it will take almost a minute before I can have music in the car

I rember using my former EPIA M1000 it was around 35 seconds, and whit my other Intel mini-itx board (the one with a celeron inside) it was around 40seconds
This are times messured IN the car, so even using the M2-ATX it was alsmost 20 seconds faster.

Tried also to use standby, and that was so much better.Waking up took at total of 11 seconds.
Tomorrow morning I will messure the amount of power use when systen is on standby, maybee i will use this in the car instead of hibernation.

it fits in the case easy as...

i swapped out the psu that came with it, as they are not rated for car use, and put a 140W one in... mainly because that was the only one my supplier had that fitted.

    BIOS update fails..

    Hello,
Just bought d945gclf2 to start my carpc project..
Installed 2Gb RAM, HD and USB DVD-ROM. All works just fine. BTW, it boots in about 50 sec, returns from standby in about 10 sec - very fast.

Anyhow.. here's the problem. It came with 099 BIOS and Intel has 103 update for it. I tried to update (using their Express Utility -
Express BIOS Update [LF94510J.86A.0103.EB.EXE]). It reboots the board, tries to update and then gives an error message - "firmware detected CMOS checksum error, press ENTER". Boots into Windows XP just fine - BIOS doesn't get updated - still 099.

I did reset BIOS (power off, battery out) - didn't help..

Did anyone try to update the BIOS yet?
    What can be wrong?

    Thanks!

Just got off the phone with India <er> Intel.

My board is now for a second time not wanting to start up and I can't remember what made it start working again after it did this the first time.

Instead of starting, the fans spin up for about 3 sec then it turns off. Same deal with 3 different power supplies except with the M4-atx the fan would continue to run but the board wouldn't post.

They did mention that there are two revisions of the board. Considering it had only been out for 2 months, maybe there is a problem with the first ones?

Anyway, I'll be sending mine in and as soon as they get more in stock........ then I get mine in 5-10 days.

On the up side, I finished my dash and everything else is ready to put in the truck.

I did update this morning my BIOS and had the same error message.
After that I did a re-start and BIOS update continue.
Didn't see if it went OK because I needed to go,but as I didn't have any errors and PC did restart without any errors I asumed that it went OK

I tried using express update and had the exact same error.

I ended up making a bootable usb sick with the bios loaded and update it that way without any problems.
I installed my carpc into my pet Kangaroo, mate.
