Some thing worked but still need a Perfection
*NOTE = Please remember that the image contain a cord with 7 pin S-VIDEO Male connector on one side and composite (RC) Male connector on other side. Assembled by me.

    .
Problem - I can see color but now i hear White Noise (a little but noticeable) and can observe Stripes (a little effect but noticeable)
    *White Noise = Electricity sound
*Stripes = Which are commonly seen on the Oldest black and white tv or while shooting a Computer Monitor

    1) How can the above problem get corrected of audio white noise and stripes?
    2) Is the above Image configuration is correct or i have to connect something else or remove something else ? any correction in the above needed ?
    3) How to make that S-VIDEO 7 pin to 4 pin S-VIDEO
    4) Will i have to apply some IC, pf etc ?
    5) Can some one give me the original tech spec of this 7 pin for this motherboard ? (no where in the manual)

As per the below links the tech spec is not matching (i guess)
    http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/S-Video_7_PIN
    this is for 4 pin

Hi, I just got a reply from Intel which confirms what other forum members had suggested. I think the description page is misleading. 667 rams are only run at 533 speeds!

"1. "Is there any speed advantage to using 667 RAMs compared to 533 on this motherboard."
Because of the FSB of the embedded processor (533MHz.), we confirm there is really no difference in using either "667MHz. or 533MHz.".

    2. "can the RAM operate at a different frequency to the FSB?"
Again, because of the FSB of the embedded processor, the BIOS of the Intel(R) Desktop Board D945GCLF2 would force a 667MHz. DDR2 DIMM to run at 533MHz."

    Have I blown it?

Hi everyone, I'm new on here and have got myself in a mess. I hope that I haven't blown my board, but don't know either way - can anybody help?

    Spec:
    D945GCLF2
    M2-ATX psu
    2.5 inch SATA HD
    2Gb RAM

I assembled the machine and switched on the power - nothing. On reading the post below I realised that I hadn't used a 2 x 2 power lead.

I've now fitted one but still the machine is dead. Did I fry it the first time around???

I do have a green LED on the board and confirm this is illuminated.

so will prevent the board from booting.

Hi Paul, "Don't Panic" First chaeck that you have wired up the correct pins to the motherboard (An easy mistake to make) If that's okay you could try using a small screw driver to short the pins to check your switch (be careful, although there are no dangerous voltages you could short something else out. Also make sure you touch the metal of the case first to discharge any static.

Finally try reseting the BIOS see the Intel site for that.

Tony, thank you very much, I've got a bit further now. Your suggestion of shorting the pins for the power switch did the trick.

I am confused though because I thought that was the point of a switching psu.

What is the interaction between the M2-ATX psu, the white ignition wire and the motherboard? I don't want a power switch with my system, rather I want it to be controlled by the ignition.

Hi, you need to pop into the BIOS and set it to "Start up when power goes on"
Sorry can't remember the correct terminology. A power on button is useful in case of Bios problems or if you flash the bios or set it to default.

Again Tony, thanks a lot. All working (for now).

My problems boiled down to dealing with two different suppliers and consequently not being supplied with with the correct leads to connect the components correctly. I've now cobbled together some wiring from dead PCs I have lying around.

The problem was further compounded by an inadequate manual which skims over these important details.

Hi Paul, it's worth having a read through the posts here re boot speed as with some settings it can take quite a while. Also I don't know if you are planning to use Linux but Puppy and Gbox might be worth looking at.

Stuck again. I can't boot from CD to install windows. Now this has really got me confused.

The system I'm putting together doesn't have a CD/DVD drive, I had intended to use my external USB DVD. I set the bios to cd/dvd as first boot device and also set to give usb priority.

Upon start up, USB drive spins up but nothing else happens... blank screen.

Thinking there could be a snag with usb I've added a number of different IDE CD/DVD drives. These just click as if stuck in a loop... again blank screen.

    Any ideas?
