I'm in serious need of a new mobo. I am still rocking the VIA Epia M10000..... Centrafuse is not as fast as I know it can be at all, and it sucks waiting seconds for stuff to happen. I guess one thing I need to research right off the bat, is if I will be able to use my current HD and Slim-line DVD drive, since this Intel only has 1 PATA IDE port, and 2 SATA ports.... Are there any adapter cables for this?

I am finally getting my board setup and am having some problems with the touchscreen.when i install the drivers i loose S3 standby. So far i have tried original and latest touchkits, inotouch and even lilliput drivers, touchkits are very accurate but no S3,inotouch can get S3 but are very inaccurate(unusable)have tried different ports have also tried Dumppo,it tells me that usb drivers are stopping comp going into S3 standby, need to install newer drivers,i have totally run out of ideas,im hoping someone else has been through and solved this.
thanks
Found the answer http://www.exoid.com/?page_id=47 very simple, and i struggled all this time
What are good quiet replacement case and chipset fans for this motherboard?
Case fans dont have anything to do with the motherboard. What kind of case do you have, and what size fans can you fit in?
Scythe and SilenX makes some of the best, and quite, fans. Larger fans move more air and are more quite than smaller fans. If you have a micro ATX case, you probably cant fit a 120mm fans. 80mm is probably the biggest you can fit.
80mm Cse Fans
Ack sorry about that. I have a MoCoSo case. It has a 50mm x 10mm fan. I've seen other fans, but there are so few reviews on that size of fan that it's hard to judge.
What about the chipset fan?
Love this board.
Cheap and takes abuse.
allow me to define abuse:
installed in a hacked vcr bent and zip tied to fit under the passenger seat of my WJ Jeep. The the only fan on it is the one that came with it that does not even cool the cpu, just the graphics chip and works great.
I run Ubuntu Mobile and have the Compiz cranked up and I get a decent frame rate but cant remember off hand.
Audio runs to aux pins that I soldered in. The only noise that I get is from the engine (not the fans).
I can leave it on with my HU for about 2 hours with just a normal battery.
