I would want to hardwire it up to my car since the cig lighter is all sorts of in the way.
That is only a 5W unit.

You need to look on the PSU for the sega and see what W it wants. (the inverter needs to be handle a larger number

I picked up a $20 inverter not long ago. I believe it was in the range of 65 watts, which I'm almost certain would be more than enough for a Genesis.

Btw, I'm going to hardwire it in, because the cig lighter is right next to the shifter.

    that's really cheap.
just make sure it's not too hard to be removed.
walmart stuff tend to have err.... walmart quality

My walmart 75watt inverter is still going strong though, I only use it for a few occasions.

Looked last night and the adapter says 10v, .3amp output, doesn't say what the output wattage is. Anyone remember the forumla for figuring out power. I forgot the ohm's law power calculation.
    Also says 7w input.

Are you kidding me..... By far the easiest way to get Sega is to use a emulator and download roms. I have about 300+ games, and have it embeded into CF. Also by emulating you dont have to have outdated cartridges laying around. Ontop of that, people will really think its tacky and outdated to see a sega Genesis sitting there. Thats like sticking a Leap Frog Leapster into the car. If you go the PC route, your not linited to just Sega, My PC has Genesis, Mega Drive, Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Game Gear, GBA, and a few more. I am even trying to get the PS1 and Game Cube emulator to work since i have those systems at home. Trust me, sticking a Genesis in your car will be so corny... if you really want Sega that bad and no PC, then by a car screen with it built in. i have seen some that will come with a controller and like 30 games built in.

I already have the screen in there, you will not see the system and I don't have all the funds for the pc. I have some stuff, but not everything I need. So this will cost me a huge $15 big deal for now.
