How to get Sega Genesis in a car.

Yes I have a indash flip out screen, it's mounted above my radio. I was starting my carputer, but ran into problems getting RR to work properly, and ran out of money. Right now the screen is hooked up to my backup camera. I can get pics after work, the car is sitting at home.

AHHHHH so you physically have a PC there already, what were you missing from the install, I have alot of spare parts, maybe i can help you finish.

Well here is where I'm at with my pc. I have the screen installed. I have 2 mb/cpus and decided to go with the easier one to install. I got it from a friend (traded) and he gave me 2 power supplies. I still have to figure out the wiring for the power supply. Haven't had time with all the projects at home. Also looking for a case to house the mini itx mb, but it also uses a full 3.5" hdd. So I have to get an adapter or find a case that will house both of them.

Dont by the case, build it yourself. I origianlly wasted money and bought a case for 89.00. It didnt work right with my setup so I scrapped it and used pieces of it to weld into its new home. Im currently building the new case out of partical board and then wrapping it in the same material as my seats. So far I have spent $35.00 on it. Its less then half of what I paid for a built one, and gives me tons of storage.

If you need help just tell us the name of the brand and we can walk you through it.

There is nothing wrong with using a 3.5 HDD. As long as you dont live in really cold tempatures the drive will work fine. Mind you it will take more power from the PSU to power it though. 3.5 also produce more heat, but all of that is fixable. The whole point of a carpc hobbist is to creative, remember there is no set way to do things.

If im reading correctly it uses 9V at 850mA.

The sega uses 10v, .3amp (300 miliamps) and 3watts of power.

Oh so I'm stilling thinking about what I can make a case out of. Where I want to mount it, I don't have a lot of room.

Maybe you should buy a Sega Genesis 3.... its so small and actually kind of adorable. If you really want a hidable system that you wont have to install, try to find a Sega Nomad, which is a portable Sega Genesis with its own built in screen. Whats cool about the Nomad is that it has a controller port so 2 people can play. One person would use the consoles controller and the second player would use the corded one. It also has a cable so you can connect to A/V port and play it on a regular TV, in your case your car screen.
