Have you looked at option 2 in this thread?
Hey all, like always I apologize if the answer to this question can be found elsewhere. Quite frankly, I got tired of searching day after day so I'm asking now.
I have all the components I want installed in my vehicle but I'm attempting to research and determine the proper way of wiring this all up. I have yet to find anyone who is doing things the way I want (mainly because it's not 100% logical but it's what I'd prefer). I have the carPC assembled with Opus power supply (it's got 3 wires for power, red+ black- and white for switched), a pioneer cd/radio deck installed, 4 channel amp wired to my speakers and the Xenarc MDT-x7000 7" flip up screen I want to use. Currently, I have the pioneer deck installed wired to my 4 channel amp which is controlling my speakers. I have a wire coming from my battery to a distribution block with an inline fuse and that current system works fine. My question is on how to wire the rest of this together the best/proper way. I was planning on using the pioneer deck to control all the sound including the cd/radio/pc (PC on Aux input). Installing the Xenarc was to control the PC and that only (also, I do know I could just replace my pioneer with the Xenarc and be done...but i don't want to do just that). Also, I want a valet switch wired in to where when toggled off the PC or screen will not be usable, however, the pioneer deck should still be able to be used at all times regardless. Additionally, where to wire in the Xenarc to the E-brake to ensure it works 100% of the time.
I have found many diagrams and explanations out there, but they all vary in their own ways and some use relays, some diodes, some capacitors, etc. From what I mentioned above, would someone be willing to come up with a diagram for me follow on how to wire all this together? Once I have my wiring scheme I'll be fine, this is just the hard part for me.
Yes, I actually did see that post. I understand it completely. I guess the central point of my concerns is how to know when and were to use relays, etc. and if I need them with the setup I want. If so, how to wire in and placement?
