Does more RAM slow wake from standby like it does boot?

Or perhaps it does the opposite...? Just wondering if I run with a 'standby' setup if I should stick with a lower amount of ram or if I should raise it.

The amount of RAM shouldn't matter much for the speed of entering/exiting STANDBY... Others may be able to shed more light on this due to more experience w/ standby mode.

More RAM will slow down entering & resuming from HIBERNATION, since that mode writes the contents of RAM to the HDD.

right... I figured it'd affect hibernation. But that's good news if I do follow through with standby. More ram is nice and although, if my 512 works well, I won't upgrade anyway, but good to know for the future!

Strangely, I barely noticed a difference between 256 ram and 512 in my resume from hibernation times.

As for choosing your ram for standby use...you might want to consider using less sticks to reduce power consumption. Not sure if reducing the actual amount of ram memory per stick will reduce power consumption as well...
