    Visteon hdz300 hd radio problems

Over the past few weeks I have had issues with my hd radio in centrafuse as well as with Mitch's standalone program. Also using Mitch's cable.. I searched some but didn't come up with anyone with a similar issue. (or maybe I just didn't search logn enough) Recently when I've gone to start my hd radio from centrafuse or the standalone app I here the radio click on and click off. I'm running xp pro and I have it on com port 1. I've tried to uninstall and re-install the com port and I still haven't had any luck. I know they are talking to each other because the radio clicks on whenever I go to the program but it immediately clicks back off. I have .net installed and I have it wired from the battery rather than my m2 just for convenience. I'm not sure if I've left anything off or not but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like maybe your radio might of switched COM ports, or Windows moved it...
There is a lot of info on the Centrafuse forums about this...

Basically, go into your radio options, and select 'None', save and exit.
Find out what COM your radio is on for sure!

Now browse to C:\Users\{YOUR USER}\AppData\Local\Centrafuse directory
(That's the Vista directory...XP is similar I think)
You'll see a Radio devices folder...you want the HDRadio folder in there.
There is an XML file for the config...edit it for the proper COM port.

Restart CF and re-setup your HDRadio...

Let me know if this works.

I've had similar issues. It seems once CF finds the Radio, if it ever gets moved, it doesn't look for it again...so you have to manually config the XML.

Yeah I've verified the correct com port in the device manager and I looked into the xml file and it was set to com port 1. I wonder if I can delete that xml file and see if it could re-initialize it?

With it not working in Mitch's stand-alone app I'm guessing it's not just a centrafuse issue. Weird stuff though..

Are you getting an error in Mitches radio app?

At one time, Mitches radio wouldn't 'find' my Visteon...
Turns out the plug into the Visteon was loose...but it didn't look loose.
Double check it...at least wiggle it, and try again.
