Sounds like a driver is screwing around during load.

I don't doubt that this is true on a good sound system, but I was referring to my desktop P45 board connected to normal computer speakers. I can definitely hear the difference between that and my other computer connected to a nice home system via sdpif.

The bios does take some time to get it right.
The boot isn't the quickest. Off al the boards out there, but mine is in the car, with full xp pro and all usb attached and using the m4 its up and running from hybernate after 23 sec after power on the m4 remote. And than its plays a song in RR.

I use the alarm of the car to switch on the cpc, and it takes about 30 sec to walk to the car get in, buckle up (i have a volvo an the sound of not buckling up is not nice) and than turing the key. So there is 0 waiting time.

Do you want it with a cold m4 or a hot m4 (hard off hasn't switched on yet) ?

@ checked it: Cold m4 startuptime: 33 sec. (full xp no tweaks)

I'm running optic straight out of this board into our Alpine 701 for processing. I was running Centrafuse for this season for all audio.
I've looked into the 701 and I really like it other than that you need the external controller for it, but I can get over that. The problem is that it doesn't seem to be readily available anymore - i guess they discontinued it...

RedGTiVR6, do you think that if I ran the analog outputs into the Alpine PXE-H650 that I could get it tuned properly, or would the source quality just not be good enough?

I would like to utilize the digital out of my board, but the selection of processors that support optical input seem to be scarce or just ridiculously expensive. I like the Zapco DSP6 bc it had PC control, but you have to use their amps and everything. Are there any other options that have digial sound processing with an optical input and RCA outs?

    Ebay is it really.

The 650 really is going to limit you. If that's all you're going to use I'd say you would be limited. It's fine for a lot of things, but if the absolute best in sound quality is what you're looking for, then it's not going to give you what you want. Analog out of a computer to a car audio piece isn't the best option anyways.

Yes, with the DG45FC. Previously, it was done with an iBase iB899.
