The trancend and the OCZ aren't the fastes that are around.
Google for the test of the ocz and you will see some very dissepoining reviews.

I think the fastes one is the intel it is mlc, but hte chipset is better than the other ones so they preform in write olmost as good as the slc. in read they are at a class of there own.
But they are not cheap and are just hitting the market.
If you have the time, wait for the beginning of 2009 than the intel slc wil hit the market and the figueres on that one are mindbubbeling.

i could't, so got the mtron 7500 pro total boot (cold m4) 24 sec (win after bios beep 13 sec (hybernate)) And thats in the car with all the usb (radio, gps infra red, usb hub, bluetooth tv, ts screen, m4, keyboard and wifi) i use attached.
    (XP pro full install.)

I just installed the OCZ solid state drive and I am currently seeing a vast improvement in boot time. But since this is a fresh installation I should wait a couple weeks to see if it holds up. Unfortunatly I didn't test the initial boot time, but I also have the original laptop hard drive I was using, so I could compare in the near future.
