i dont know about low profile sound cards, but you should try looking around for usb sound cards. theres a bit of info about them on here, i dont know if theyre any good or not, but it shouldnt be too hard to find out.
Ive looked throughout the web and can't seem to find a low profile sound card. Im not particularly happy with my onboard sound and want to get a decent sound card but Im using a book-size pc. Ive found a low profile 3D vga card w/ TV out, I would think I could find a low profile sound card. Anyway, help would be appreciated.

Bought an Aureal card on there. It's somewhat low profile, but the connectors stick up maybe a bit too far.
Finding reliable and worth while devices for slim line cases is a pain.

hey scott - I may have asked you this already, but I've slept since then...lol
those connections on the gina would require modifying some RCAs to make them work, right?
go from a 1/4" jack to a regular style RCA....right?

yup. I'm actually making my own cables too. I need to go 1/4 TRS to the proprietary zapco connections. then the zapco connections to xlr. and using all Neutrik connectors (pro sound studio connectors)
to make a balanced 1/4 TRS to rca, you just need to ground the neg phase signal wire to the shield (closer to the rca connector) I wish i could let you know how the card ultimately sounds...but i have probably about two weekends left before i can fire it up
