    Upgraded to dual-core...no more hibernate!

    Argh!!!!
First time I noticed, not sure if it's related, but once I put in the dual core, now my system won't hibernate!
Without hibernation, it's basically useless as a carputer!

    Anyone else experience this?
    Any idea why??

Why is hibernate so important? I must be missing something...

I've been doing shutdown for 1.5years now, boot up takes about 50s to RR ready to play, my carnetix is programmed with 15min shutdown delay, this doesn't seem to bother me. No fancy hw either ie SSD etc...

How much faster is hiberante? Is it worth all the headaches?

When I'm running errands the shutdown delay takes care of not having to reboot all the time.

    Please enlighten me...

A full boot-up is quite a bit faster than my previous, single core install...
But I appreciate having everything left off exactly where I left it, AND getting there 10 or 20 seconds quicker

So basically when you made that comment you were being a 'drama queen'

I bow down to your install, I saw pic's in another thread of your dual card water cooled setup, super sick...

OT, but I'm thinking of trying vst plugins, what do you think based on my setup (see sig)..

In all seriousness, seconds matter. If he can get hibernate to play nice then more power to him.

Wungun, I'd check your video card drivers. That seems to cause more issues with hibernation than anything else.

I think I'm just running the latest certified drivers from MS...
    But I'll check.
I might just try a repair install and see if that doesn't fix it...

Did you swap motherboards or just processors?

I wouldn't think swapping processors would have any effect on processor swap.

No, I wouldn't think so either...but I don't recall changing anything else since the processor.
