What board to get

Hey guys i've been looking about boards for awhile.

I've come across a couple i'm pretty interested in..

I'm looking for a board that will not max out an m2-160 watt PSU

also i would like the board to have a 2.0ghz dual core.

what do you guys suggest?

Depends on what you want to accomplish with your build. Do you want an indash PC or a remote system mounted under a seat or in the trunk? Also what apps besides the frontend and associated apps (GPS, etc)are you going to use? You might not need that much processing power. I have a dual core atom and so far it has done everything I have thrown at it. Since I'm doing a complete in-dash install I went with a mini-itx (7"x7") board but if I was to do it over again I would probably pick one of the 3.5" boards with the DC atom.

i'm gonna have centerfuze.

GPS
WIFI
Bluetooth
usb AM/FM
may connect an ODB II connector in the future depending how i like the system.

i was thinking the
Intel D945GCLF2 motherboard with embedded Dual Core 8W 1.6GHz Atom

but 1.6ghz seems kinda slow..
like i want my system to be really quick. i dont like pressing a button and having to wait for this to load. like if i need my GPS and i press the GPS program i want that thing to open as fast as i pressed that button..

I also want a board that i can change out the chip set.

Thats the one Im using. I have everything you mentioned enabled (except OBDII) and it runs great.

does it have a quick boot up??

My D945GCLF2 boots to windows in under 30sec but if I could speed up the POST it would be a lot quicker. Windows splash screen to desktop is about 12seconds. I'm using minlogon and XP SP3 Nlited.

do you plan on playing dvd or hd stuff? if so i dont think the atom can handle that, you will need a dual core chip other then atom for that, also would then need some decent IGP not the intel stuff, i would suggest ati, nvidia has been quite flaky and all kinds of other issues, if you havent been reading there bump/underfill issues and devices dyeing way prematurely, then you may want to read up on that, or just stay way from nvidia for a bit
Core 2 Duo is much better of course, but you cant go wrong with amd x2, and underclock/undervolt it to mobile speeds, just go with a BE (black edition)

it also depends what type of gps software you plan to run, not sure if some of the 3d ones will render good with the intel stuff

I would suggest not using the M2 for anything...M4 either, for that matter!
