Phidgets/FusionBrain radar detector interface...

I plan on hooking the output speaker (or light) of my radar detector into a digital input on my Phidgets interface...
On the output, have it programed to beep and/or flash the touchscreen...
You could use another output to relay power the detector on and off as well from the frontend...
Then you can hide the detector behind the front grill or something (because they ain't legal where I live!)

Does this not sound easily doable??

My detector beeps (and/or flashes) more quickly the stronger the detection, so this would relate quite well on the screen as a flash/beep...

That's be a pretty nifty idea, and for most radar units fairly easy. I was thinking about doing this at some point as well. Radar Detectors aren't illegal where I am, but they are obnoxious looking to have in the windshield, so a nice integrated solution would be good.

Btw, make sure you get a "detector detector", cops can detect normal radar detectors nowadays. The special "detector detectors" signal that there is a cop, and then shut down to avoid detection

I dunno if the technology is wide spread here...
We probably have maybe 3 laser detectors that the whole provincial police use

I'l risk it!
