I need some opinions on hardware.

I'm finally putting a computer in my car and I wanted some advice on the parts I was thinking about.

Screen: Liliput EBY-701 with transflective upgrade, mounted in double din bracket.

    Motherboard:GIGABYTE GA-MA74GM-S2

    CPU: Athlon 64 X2 2.6 Ghz (45 watt)

Hard Drive: 2.5 inch Fujitsu 80GB 7200 RPM

    Memory: 2GB

OS Windows XP lightened and tweaked

Any major issues anyone can see? I'm not too worried about the power consumption of the 7200RPM hard drive. My biggest concern is how good that screen is.

    I think you've nailed it.
The screen quality is acceptable as far as most users are concerned. I'd read thru the forums for individual perspectives. Don't excpect to see anything in direct sunlight. That's not the EBY-701, but nearly all 7" screens that have not had modifications made to them.
And the HDD power consumption should be just fine.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

The EBY-701 that I'm getting does have a transflective upgrade made to it. If you follow the link underneath it it's actually a pretty cool package. Mo-Co-So took an EBY-702 and gave it a transflective upgrade. Then they took it out of its case and mounted it in a double din bracket. It seems like the perfect package for a car.

Might want to ask the seller about the transreflective first. There's some speculation that the eby-701 sold by that seller is not necessarily a true transreflective (touchscreen bonded to lcd)?

Thanks for the info. That's kind of disappointing. Anything priced much higher than that is out of my budget though so I'm going to have to deal with this screen, at least for a while. As long as it works in general and is a little bit better than most screens then this package is the easiest route to go with for me.
