Anyone used a TI-8X Calculator to keep track of lists?
I was wondering if anyone has ever used TI Graphing Calculator to keep track of their Playlists? The only problem is finding the correct program to upload to it.. All it would need to do is:
1. Be able to input songs
2. List songs in alphobetic Order and make them correspond with the correct number.
3. And maybe search all entries.
This would work perfectly. I know there has to be a program out there like it, Its so dang simple.

I thought about doing something similar to this but I don't know much about programming a TI plus they are so expensive to dedicate to holding your song list. They also have limited memory. How would you connect the TI to the computer? that cord from TI cost $50 last time I checked. Good Idea, but there are some things to think about
My Calc has been sitting around my room for so long collecting dust. I just think that I may as well do something with it. My Ti-86 has 98k of memory to fill up that would be a hell of a lot of mp3's if it was just holding the name. You can guy the Graphlink cable which is like $40 but my friends just made his own cable from provided schematics from www.ticalc.org.

That sounds like a great idea, and I have a lot of calc programming experience. I'd work on it with ya if you really want to give it a go.
Would be neat if you could use the TI like a keyboard considering it has all those letters and numbers already. Would be interesting to use it as a control pad for a lcd screen type setup.

While your at it what about using a Palm Pilot. Alot of those have touch screen and stuff.
This probably is'nt the place for this, but I am having a problem with my link cable all the sudden. It was homemade by a friend, I know it works but for some reason whenever I plug it into my calc when it is plugged into a com port the calculator like locks up and I have to remove the cable to get it to respond again. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Help!

Im pretty sure even a calc to calc link will do that if you plug it into one while another is on with the link plugged in.. youre supposed to connect both ends and then turn the calc on.. my ti83 does the same thing with my parallel cable & with the calc to calc link if I dont do it that way.. just a suggestion..
