You need to check whether the OEM HU has an AUX in, then if it does you run a lead from the audio out of the Laptop to the AUX in of the HU.

if your mounting the xenarc monitor accross the where the OEM HU was and moving the climate control down, then im assuming your getting a bezel made to fit into this space? also in order for you to get audio, your going to have to get an amplifier, (any budget, 4 channel amp will do) or what ive done on my e46 is relocate the HU (aftermarket alpine CDA 9855) into the compartment on the right (assuming your car in right hand drive) near the steering wheel, the headunit has sub controls and an aux input. Hope this helps

I've yanked the Headunit out of my '03 E46 and kept the factory amp. I bought the adapter harness (for swapping Headunits) and went from 2 line-outs of the PC to a couple of 1 channel line drivers, to a Sven4 to the factory Harness. Without the line drivers (that boosts ~1v output of the soundcard up to 4-10v, the audio was a little too quiet. Sounded OK till I got up to speed, but then full volume was not loud enough. I really wanted to avoid having the Headunit in the glovebox or trunk. If I had more cash to drop, I would replace the amp too, and may have not needed the line drivers...
