servo for heater/ac controls
I’m looking to eventually control my heater and a/c controls with my car computer. After disassembling the heater controls I have decided that it will be much easier to just mechanically operate the controls with servos, I know this is inefficient but I’m okay with that.
I have no prior experience with servos. After trying to going shopping for a servo I came back confused. Can someone tell me what I should be looking for and possibly recommend one? Thanks.

Check Ashley Power's web site. He has successfully used servos for the hvac controls.

Stepper motors are another option. Easy to control and cheap on the surplus market. The book "Robot Builder's Bonanza" by Gordan McComb has a lot of info on controlling steppers (and servos) via the PC.

I'm planning on having the BasicX microprocessor control either a servo or stepper.
Are there any recommended tutorials on servos and/or steppers?

Jeff, Ashley Powers website does not have any details on how he used the servos. Just a pic showing the controls on his lcd.
Has somebody else done this???

Yeah, I just went there and noticed that...hmm. He used to have fairly detailed pictures and links. The servo controller link is still there, I think. You can try to contact him through this site as he's a member.

Hmm I remember someone [here] created some programto control servos and motors....but I forget where that was posted.
Would it be that hard to create a program that gets temperature data (from a standard mobo sensor) and then adjusts the servo to heat/cool to bring the car to that temp? It seems like it shouldn't be too hard. Although, it will still have to be open to changes, such as different servos, more or less turns for cool/heat, etc.
