    Pico-itx motherboards

A company called Kontron has a new Intel Atom based Pico-ITX motherboard. There are now four companies that make or will make a Atom Pico-ITX board and one other that will be rebranding the Nvidia ION with plenty more shurly to follow. Some are quite expensive but the competition especially the Nvida ION rumored to be $199 to $399 should bring prices down considerably. The ION is said to be released around June 09. I can't wait for prices to fall and build a Car PC with one of these. Ideally I'd like to use a no moving parts SSD. Their prices are going down and their reliability is going up quite steadily now. Now if only wireless broadband prices would follow suite.

Onboard DVI on the one of em. I would need an adapter.

With a SSD you could mount one nearly anywhere it would be so small.

Anyone willing to speculate on whether the recent release of Atom-based PicoITX boards has anything to do with the Infill "announcement": http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/mp3c...ck-action.html
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

    Updates?

Hey folks, I've been holding off on my CarPC build because the bybyte dash box install perfectly in my 99 Saab 93 but I wanted a more powerful pico-itx than what Via and other vendors had to offer. I've been waiting for the darn NVidia ion pico-itx with the atom 330 (possibly dual core?) to be released. Here we are a year after the announcement and I still can't find out where to buy the motherboard. Does anyone have any insight?

never read them before but the terms and conditions seem very one sided!

i got a quote some time ago and was told it was ex-stock. i ordered and was told there was a 2 week wait. ok, i thought, i can live with that. the delivery time got pushed back to 4 weeks, next 6 weeks, 8 weeks. got to 10 weeks and i cancelled (not before they argued it was non cancellable).
