can some one confirm that Zotac MBs dont have issues with USB droping and freezing on bootup?
I'm looking at AMD based version but still afraid to test it
Cold boot or out of hibernation? Touchscreen works just fine on mine from both.
how many USB devise u have
I had too much trouble with USB Deives on few oter boards ecept once manyfacrured by via
Right now just USB Bluetooth and USB touchscreen.
I did have GPS plugged into it once, but haven't done it with USB touchscreen at same time. Should be finalizing install this week, I'll have a USB hub in the car and will let you know how the USB holds up.
Now keep in mind, I don't have the ION board, it's a few steps below that one, the 630i WiFi.
can u also plug in a USB Flash and lsiten MP3s from it? thta thing freezes during boot up all the time
as to WiFi mobo, i think thats somewhat junk feature. Coming from wireless business i'd rather buy $70 200mW udb card with 5dBi antenna and that will catch free net in jsut about any residential neighborhood. (for complacent stock wififi card is 90mW)
I've been chasing my tail for a couple of weeks with my system with USB problems. Finally determined that my Senao EUB862 high-powered wifi adapter was the culprit. It would work sometimes, then after a reboot wouldn't turn on properly or be recognized. If I had it plugged into a hub then it would affect all the other devices in the hub as well. Replaced it with a Linksys WUSB54G I had and all has worked well ever since.
So right now I have a Holux GPS and touchscreen into an unpowered hub, a serial-USB and the WUSB54G plugged into a powered hub (along with an extension cable for kb/mouse/etc. when I need it), and Bluetooth in another hub that is built into the case. All works well finally.
I'm not convinced that the Senao adapter has a problem. I'll do more testing on it when I get a chance. I'm just glad I have a stable configuration before I leave on a road trip soon.
Senao got goot produvt noways (at least im talking about EnGineus) if you have 200mW vesion then you need powered hub to get full power from device ;-)
I have been fighting my ION board and USB issues. It would not boot at times or not even make it through POST. This is what I have determined...
My previous board (D201GLY) had only 4 USB ports so I had 2 powered hubs. The only USB thing I had plugged directly into the MB was my touchscreen. Everything else (DiNovo, Bluetooth, 2 USB to serial adapters, mouse, and thumb drives) was plugged into hubs. When I tried this setup with the new board it did not work at all. I now have 8 USB ports so I started eliminating the hubs and everything worked well but I needed a hub up front to use when I needed a thumb drive plugged in or tether my iphone for internet, so I added 1 powered hub up front and the PC would not boot with any type of input device plugged into the hub. It would not even POST. After weeks of trial and error I have everything plugged directly into MB except bluetooth and flash drives and the PC is reliable. I have never seen a PC not like input devices on a hub before. I tried 4 different hubs with the same results. I turned off legacy support in the BIOS and every other setting I could find but it did the same thing.
damn u make me scary, i wanted to try board but runing 5 Wires to front of my car is tooooooo much in terms of space and money
:(
I tried latest top of the line industrial MB butit kept henging on startup w/ usb attached so shoping for alternative
my VIA EPIA M10000 works as charm but has only 1GHz single cire which is not too good for my needs
So i gess Zotac is off my shoping list for now :(( Lets see what intel can promice
