not on MSI or Jeway boards, they still try to auto detect drives
I received my IONITX-A-U Thursday and had a little time to play around with it. I've got an M350 case on it's way, but I went ahead & attached my WD scorpio & installed Windows 7 (x86) via. a flash drive.
I've installed the nVidia drivers off the CD, but nothing else yet. The autorun setup app wasn't able to start. Don't yet know if the HDMI audio or the other coax/SPDIF work, but I'll try testing all that stuff out tomorrow. All of the devices appear to be functional according to device manager.
I've been playing with the WoL feature... at first, when I put it into hibernate, it'd immediately just start back up, but I got that fixed it seems. I can wake it from hibernate, but not from shutdown state... even though the ethernet adapter appears to be alive.
Next thing I'm going to test is feeding the coax digital audio into my RFX-8250 headunit & building a VGA adapter so it can drive my OEM nav screen.
Anybody else out there using one of these 19v Zotac boards in their car? Seems pretty straight forward & should be similar to using a Mac Mini, but not sure...
i will be making 12V to 19V DC-DC adapters... is some one need few let me know. they are hand made so once im done for myself i wont make any extras
is there such a thing as a 19V DC-DC smart adapter? I have a variant of this board (Asrock Ion box) which is very handy because of the instant-on software. But I'm struggling to find an adapter that does 12 to 19V conversion and is smart i.e. shuts down the computer when battery drops. I could use a smart 12V DC-DC converter and connect a 12V to 19V adapter to it but its not very elegant as it would just remove the power from the computer instead of shutting it down.
