    another mini mobo?

So I was set on getting one of those Epia 9000 mobos.. but I'm just not sure now. It only compares to a 500mhz celeron? That doesn't sound good to me. I need something that is pretty snappy. The only reason I wanted the epia really was because it was small and woudl fit behind the LCD.. but now I'm wondering.

What other good mini motherboards are there, from a good name brand company like intel or amd? If there isn't a mini one like the epia.. I could break down and get a bigger one that I can put under the passenger seat so that I won't have to run wires all the way back to the trunk. Guess I would need some slim case that would fit it also. The reason I liked the Epia was because it had everything on it.. didn't have to buy anything seperate but memory & hd.. I'm looking for something like that since I'm not a big hardware type. Any ideas?

hmmmmmm...... First, should probably do at least a little research on this topic before expecting someone to help you.

All I am gonna say is that you need to look good and hard at the entire EPIA line, not just the 9000.

the search button can be your friend if you let it...

    fv25

The shuttle fv25 is a flex atx form factor which is really small and I believe it will take up to a PIII 1.1 GHZ.

    hope that helps.

There isnt anything current availible (meaning that some taiwanese companies have released photos, but nothing else) that is socket based and is atx in terms of basic form factor. If you wanted something smaller, there are sbc's out there that are s370 based, but they are expensive. Otherwise, flexatx is your best bet for a small but powerful system. (atx>micro>flex>mini-itx). And what all are you planning to do in your car? the M9000 is more than enough for dvds and mp3s.

Well that's pretty much what I'm planning on doing. I will have a DVD player, MP3s, GPS eventually. I'm not sure what else. I'm trying to keep it pretty basic so that there won't be alot of programs bogging down the system ya know? If you think the Epia 9000 or even 10000 will be good enough for that, then I'll go ahead and get it.

I have searched the forum alot.. and have found alot of stuff on the Epias and such.. was just getting a few comments before I actually buy one. Fry's has them pretty cheap (outpost.com).

I spilled coke on my keyboard last night at home (I know I know!) so I probably won't be responding too much until I get a new one, Thursday, unless when I'm at school.
