Hello,
This may help a few of you out their when it comes to using an inverter to power your car pc.
Simply put:
GROUND EVERYTHING TO THE VEHICLE FRAME AND OR BODY.
This incudes the PC chasi, inverter chasi, audio grounds, USB grounds, LCD power supply ground etc. To my knowledge their is no way to defeat noise emmited by an inverter. I could be way wrong. This has been a battle for me since I started my car PC project. By grounding everthing I have defeated almost 98% of the noise in my system. It is barely neglidgable. If you have successfully eliminated all noise caused while using an inverter, one you are a magician and two please let me know! LOL

Grounding everything to the chassis is a damn good idea, but it's no guarantee it will reduce noise from EMI in your system.
DSATX is a DC-DC power supply for a PC, which eliminates the need for an inverter, at least for powering a PC. I highly recommend doing some reading and research into this madddening hobby of ours, and the products that have been developed to make it better and more enjoyable.
I am the kind of person who does research but strays away from things that do for you what you can do by hand. Plus I have now become a victim of the big 3 automotive crisis here in Michigan, USA and now I am laid off. So point is money is extremely tight right now. So with that being said I have to try to build what I need from what I have.
Yes you can call me MacGyver, LOL!
