I know you already have the M2, but only thing your powering is a USB Hub and the screen right? If yes, why not get the OPUS 15Watt psu. I use it to power one hub and the echo cancel card. Its also a dumby PSU, but it has the ability to connect the PSU to constant 12V and then has a wire that goes to ignition to turn it on when the car is turned on and off, etc.

Wouldn't that be the same as connecting my M2 to the radio power wire and running it in ATX mode? They'll power off before the PC hibernates?
Or does this 15 watt PSU have a timer/hardoff function?

OK, I started to think about your setup..... I think maybe the M2-ATX does only work with constant and ignition together when in dumb mode. Problem is you cant run the m2-ATX directly off the OPUS, you would max it out. The best thing to do is have a relay come off the OPUS 12V rail then to the relay you would have the M2-ATX on one side and constant on the other. Also how much extension is between the PC and the USB hub. Maybe your USB run is too long and thats why your having the issues? I think the max is 10 to 15 feet, anything after that you need a USB extension booster.

Yeah, relay would work I think...
But I might test with the radio power connection first, as it would be a cinch to hook-up.

Does your 15 watt OPUS have a shutdown timer, or does it hard-off? If it hard-offs, and you don't have any problems with the hub being off when the PC is going into hibernation, then I think I should be fine with the radio/power connection.

There is a 15ft extension on the hub, yes...but I've never had any other issues, apart from this 1st startup problem.

It does hard off, but since its on the OPUS 12V rail (ignition wire), which doesnt shut off till the PC is shut down, it doesnt hard off till the OPUS 320 shuts off.

    I see...
I just found out, a device that's plugged into one of the USB ports cause the USB device detection (my MSI board beeps for each USB device detected) to take 4 or 5 extra seconds before it continues with the boot/resume...
This looks like it gives enough time for the hub/M2 to fully wake up and get properly detected...I'll know for sure tomorrow morning...

The down side is the extra time before resume, but I'll take that trade off!
Thanks for your help BTW Jack!

i kept getting the delete restore data prompt as well resuming from hibernation. i reinstalled XP multiple times. i messed with my usb connections/drivers. i ran memtest and it kept showing an error at one of the higher level tests. i got a new stick of ram, and all is well.

Me too am having this problem recently (since two months ago). My wife was driving the car regularly, and she never turns the computer off. I was thinking this was because after 15min, the DSATX gives one minute only to write the 2GB hibernating file and it was not enough.

I'm going to try to replace the memory and see what happens.

this may or may not be the issue, but i had the menu keep popping up on me, and the solution was pulling HORM.dat from the xpe iso (actually found it on a post here somewhere). using a blank HORM.dat just didnt work, now it works like a charm.
