    Making sure on DVD

So I just got this thing on Ebay and I'm digging around on eBay for the dvd drive now. I'm looking at the slot drives and I'm just making sure that this one here will work with that adapter??? I've read for what seems like hours on this and the adapters and all that.. and I'm not really worried it the adapter sticks out some, don't think it will.. but I just want to know if that dvd drive will work with that adapter or not.

Also.. what do ya do about a bezel for that dvd drive? I saw a few that a guy is selling on eBay, but he says they are for Matsu****a ... so I dunno

I'm looking to mold it into the dash around my LCD somewhere, either above or below it. Still working on that idea.

    Thanks!!

Well I have both, the imac drive with adapter, and a slimslot with adapter.

The slimslot one is reversed, have to flip it over. The connector on the drive is deep, so the adapter doesn't even connect (you would have to open the case to make it fit.)

I'm not sure if the pins are the same. If the power pins are different you'll have a burnt drive.

So would it work for other slim cd players? I guess slot-loading isn't that big of a deal, a motorized tray would be fine. Like those ones on mini-itx.com?

Found this Pioneer 16x for $44.00 here

I know it isn't slim, but I think that might be ok for many applications.
