    One way / translucent mirrors

I was just wondering if anyone here knows how to do this to a mirror?

It's the same mirror, and I believe that it is also the original manufacture one, but modified. Tho, I'd be quite happy to replace the glass to achieve the same effect. Im thinking that with a big enough mirror (or small enough screen) it would also be possible to incorporate an LCD into it, but Im mainly thinking of warning lights, or perhaps a distance meter.

    Any ideas folks?

Take the mirror out and use paint remover to take off the mirror finish. Then clean well and put mirror window tint on the back. When anything is lit up behind the glass it will show through. Get a higher light transmittanc # though 60% or 80%, somthing like that since no light comes through the back usually it should be plenty reflective when nothing is turned on.

There is a mirror out there with an lcd in it already. Comes as a kit with a camera for the back bumper. I think theres a post on this board somewhere.

    I just love that term!
If Abode's advertisers used that in a campain they'd be shot!
    Maybe, it's been "Windows Paint"ed

On the subject of paint, why sometimes can I save a file as a jpg, but then most of the time only as a bmp? Its odd that it works sometimes and not others...

True... but I guess it's a sign of their position in the market. It's like saying "I need a Kleenex" or "Xerox that for me" right?
