Thread: Any all-in-ones with wifi and/or cell phone tethering capabilities?

I've had a functional carputer in my car for over 5 years now, and I'm about to pull the trigger on a new F150. I'm going to keep my car and leave the pc in it, so I'm starting to plan what I'm going to do with my new truck. The carputer in my car has a single-din cd player and a Xenarc that I built into my dash. This, of course, required some dash hacking. I'm not willing to do that with my new truck and I want an aftermarket head unit that is separate from my carputer. So far I've come down to two options:

1. Single DIN Head Unit & Single DIN touchscreen (ala XENARC 700IDT).
2. Skip a carputer altogether and just purchase a double DIN head unit with navigation.

Originally, I was heavily leaning towards option 1, but after doing a bit more research and discovering that the 700IDT sticks out 1.5" from the dash when the touch screen is tucked away, I'm starting to favor option 2. The only thing I really use a carputer for is listening to music, IGuidance, and infrequent web browsing via cell phone tethering. If I do go with option 2, here are my questions:

a. Is there a head unit that can connect to the internet via cell phone tethering (either USB or blue tooth)? I know the Clarion Mind can do this, but it's a standalone unit that wouldn't fit in a double din slot.

b. I would definitely buy a unit that can be attached to a USB mass storage device. How well can these things would be able to handle a largish external hard drive filled with MP3.

c. Any suggestions for an all-in-one?
