    D945GCFL2 w/ Opus Strangness

Very close to going back to a headunit. Hopefully you guys have some diagnosing ideas I haven't thought of.

    Hardware:
    Intel D945GCLF2
    Opus Mini-ITX Case w/ DCX3.120P DC-DC PSU

    Problem:
As of recently, (it use to work perfectly fine) the CarPC will start fine. Everything works. As soon as it is shut down it refuses to turn back on. I see the Error Lights on the PSU flash twice. Now if I wait for a few hours the CarPC will turn on again just fine. Unplugging it from the hardline makes no difference.

According to OPUS that error code means the following.

The computer power up sequence failed. Reasons:
    • Check the wiring of the two wire power-switch cable from power supply connector J9 to power switch pins on the ATX motherboard. If connected properly check the polarity of the power switch pins, may be reversed.
    • Check ATX mother board bios settings.
    • Locked up motherboard or software crash.
    • Faulty DC power supply.
Almost seems as though waiting for the capacitors to drain, either on the PSU or the Mobo then allows everything to boot up fine.

I need to work out either

    A) what the problem is or
    B) which piece of hardware is giving me the troubles.

Right now i don't know if its the mobo/psu or something else weird.

I should also mention i get the same results in the car as on the test bench powering the DC-DC off a regular PSU.
I have tried bios updates etc etc. I really can't work it out.

have you tried powering up the computer using a desktop psu?

that might help narrow it down.

I'm powering the DC-DC with a desktop PSU on my test bench.

I guess i could go back to a Desktop PSU straight into the mobo. If that powers on fine everytime that should eliminate the mobo right?

or just take a metal object and touch the two header pins on the motherboard for the power switch, it will turn on like normal
