    SpaceNavigator + RBC9 driver + Windows 7 issues

    Hi guys,

I'm in the middle of my carpc project, and while I have most things going correctly, this one has me baffled. I'm using the D945GCLF2 Atom board (which is working perfectly btw), and I have Windows 7 RTM build (7600) installed. I have the Spacenavigator PE edition connected to it.

Now, when I use the SN with the stock drivers (which of course doesn't help me as such, since I need the functionality of the RBC9 drivers), the SN works great, on a cold boot, resume after S3 sleep, and resume after hibernation. When I use the RBC9 drivers, and I have them installed correctly as such, since everything works (and works GREAT), the SN works fine on a cold boot, but the system does not detect the SN after a resume from S3 or hibernation.

I have tried it on EVERY USB port in the system (including internal and external) as such, although the issue is not the USB ports, since the stock driver works perfectly as such.

Has anybody else faced the same issues with the RBC9 drivers? Is it because of Windows 7 and compatibility? Is RBC9 still working on his drivers? (which I doubt, since I haven't seen any updated drivers. I guess 3DConnexion got to him...) Any ideas?

On a related note, while configuring the RBC9 drivers for my usage, it has a few issues when it needs to send a key combination, like Ctrl-Shift-S for e.g. Is the right way to do that, is to have 3 individual binds? One for Ctrl and Shift key hold, one for S key press, and then one for Ctrl and Shift release?

Please help, since this is the last stumbling block in project!

    Appreciate any input.

SOLVED. You MUST use the "v2" drivers. If your driver doesn't say v2 at the end, you have an older driver. Works perfectly in Windows 7 32 bit. Haven't tested with 64 bit (and don't need to, for the carPC).

Uninstall the USB device (the HID device) from Device Manager.
When Windows says "You are about to uninstall...." and provides a checkbox that says "delete driver as well..", check the box, and uninstall the device.
    Unplug the SN.
Extract install files from the driver package that you downloaded from the site above, somewhere on your computer
Plug in the SN again - Let Windows install the default drivers.
Go to device manager and right click the new HID device and select "update drivers". Point it to the location where you extracted the files.
    Once done, reboot.

    You're done.
