    Sound Blaster Audigy ZX2 Platinum

What do you guys think of this sound card for a carPC? It's old, I think I bought it in 2004 but it was top of the line (for Creative anyways) at the time and it's just sitting in my unused computer in the basement.

Here are the only specs I could still find

    No one's used this?

Nevermind it's a ZS2, not ZX2 and that brought up a bunch of results from the search.

If you don't have very very high demands on the sound your soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS will be more than okey.
If you compare the Audigy 2 ZS with home amplifier Pioneers old AX10i had similair singal noise values. This can give you a hint it will probably be okey for you in a carPC setup.

You can read more about soundcards in the caraudio section in the forum.
Soundblaster Audigy and Audigy 2 cards usually can use the KX drivers. There is some cards that are not compatible with them but I think your can use them.
I can recomend you to use this drivers instead of Soundblasters own. Search for KX driver in the forum and you will find all information you need.

    Good luck

I do have "very very high demands" as far as audio goes and I will for sure upgrade the sound card. Right now I'm paying off student loans as I build this so as long as the Audigy 2 ZS sounds "good" I'll use it for now since it's just sitting in an unused desktop at the moment.

I've read about the hibernate issues and not that worried about it for now. It's work around-able.
