Post Powering a Single Board Computer off a battery...

    hello all,
I was wondering if there ws any way possible to power a single board computer off of some kind of rechargable battery system. Maybe like a laptop battery that is spliced into it? I dunno. Also, could a 486 sbc play mp3s in dos? just curious!

    Cool

    What voltages does this require?

A 486 DX 120 can play low bitrate MP3s in DOS.

I think this is what you are referring to.

I wonder if we could figure out how to make these. I couldn't find a price but I think they are around $90.

Had a look at that link. At a guess its the plugin which is the hard bit, converts the mp3 data (digital) into parralel data in a set format. The box takes the parralel signal and dos a simple digital to analoge convertion. (I think it just a sound card), you can make a parralel port at as a scsi device (slow), a scsi sound card???
