Memory. Either it's dead or probably it's not compatible with your MB?
I just put together my first build, and it won't boot!
I'm running a Intel D945GCLF2D, M2-ATX, 2GB RAM, Intel 80GB SSD in a Morex 5677 case.
When supplied power, the light on the MoBo comes on. When turned on, the CPU fan kicks on, power is supplied to the USB ports and that is it. The case fans don't kick in, no detectable image is being supplied to the monitor, etc...
Any idea on where I should start looking?

Yup, I goofed! My MoBo only takes 667/533 and I have a 800 in it.Thanks, I would have taken weeks to discover that.
Glad you figured it out! Good luck!

Well I replaced the memory with an acceptable replacement (DDR2 667MHz 2GB), and there is no change. Still dead. My only idea of a possible issue is my power source while on my work bench. Is 12V 1.2A enough to power such a setup?

Thanks. I'll have to go find a power supply that puts out more amps...
Exactly. Try this:

Yeah that's definitely the best way to go about it. I would have sent you that link, but it was late last night and I figured some answer would at least get you on some track.![]()

So I finally got some free time and I am still in the same situation. I was given a RV/Marine deep-cycle battery, so that is my current bench power supply now.
I'm still having issues with booting, when supplied power, the light on the MoBo comes on. When turned on, the CPU fan kicks on, power is supplied to the USB ports and that is it. The case fans don't kick in, no detectable image is being supplied to the monitor, etc...
On my M2-ATX I'm using mode 0 for testing. J8 and J9 are both connected.
I'm not sure where to go now... Any suggestions?
Edit: Stupid question, but do I need the P4 cable from my PSU to my MoBo for my CPU to run? Intel D945GCLF2D MoBo and M2-ATX PSU.
