    Question Infill Car PC Help

    Hey everyone
I bought a infill car pc for my corvette about 7 months ago. I got it installed, it worked maybe a month, then. One day i turned the car on and the monitor went haywire. The monitor still worked but it would retract down, if you pulled it down, it would retract it. so for some time i used the system like such. I would turn the car on the computer would boot and work, the monitor would come out fine, but needed to be pulled down to retract in and shut down. eventually the pc started having issues, not a few months after i bought it. Now the pc turns on ,but no panel works, this thing was thousands and i feel i got got junk. It was so freaking cool for some time, until disaster.
First, thanks for reading my splirg, lol
Secondly, anyone have any idea who repairs these expensive pieces of junk?

    Thankxs a lot
    Chris

Sorry for your difficulties. Good luck finding someone to work on it, but lets see if we can't figure out some of your problems. So the screen motor doesn't work at all or does it just not retract? As far as the front panel buttons not working (I assume the power volume and mute) that might be as simple as one of the FPC "ribbons" loose or broken. If you are comfortable opening it up check the two ribbon cables, I'm pretty sure it is the top one that controls the buttons. In the top picture ignore the red box, your ribbon in in the lower right corner, the 2nd photo has a close up of it.

    hi
Thank you very much for trying to assist with helping me. You are vey right, i cant find anyone that works on them. I am trully sorry i should have added mine is not the G4 model, mine is the T3. The monitor and pc are stored in two seperate dins to each other. As for your question, the monitor does work, will come out fine, but you have to pull it down for it to retract cack in. The pc it self, i think is having issues with a ribbon cable, it was made to bend with the front plate as it opens downward to put in a cd. Very cool yet weird design. Thank you for all your effort to help.

Has it always been that way? If so, it may be an installation issue. There are two "power" wires, one of which still supplies 12v when the car is turned off. On my G4 after I turn the car off, it shuts down the pc but still needs power to retract the screen. It your has always been working that way it may be due to the wiring to the car, if your T3 started acting up after the install then it may not be that simple...

Question I think it croked, lol

    Hey Jason
First, thanks for replying to my post issue. I am not sure if it, at first was a install issue. I think now its, just broke. I have a guy install it when i first got it. It worked for a while just great, then one day. I turned my car on, the screen came out, and went haywire. The screen just started clicking back, as if i was holding the screen position button. Then it just stayed tilted up as if it was pointing toward the ceiling. I pressed the postion button and it pointed normal again. When i went to turn the car off the screen wouldnt rotate down, it sounded like a gear was shot, it was grinding kinda. If i pulled it down, it retarted in to the din fine, so odd. And when i restarted the car, it came out fine and i could use it. I did that for maybe a week or so before the computer unit started having issues. This thing sure did get on my nerves, haha. Anyway if anyone knows a way to fix it, please let me know.
    Thanks

    A little assistance

    Hello Riggscm
I am sorry of your troubles you are experiancing with your Car-PC. Our company has collected a few of these units. They too are broken due to several causes. After looking online for a while my self. I appologise i cant seem to offer any good news other then contact the manufacturer as i did. There website is linked nefore for Infill, it is a korean site, but have several employees fluent in English.

    http://www.infill.co.kr

Heres a website i found a while back while searching answers for the T3
    http://www.engadget.com/2005/07/08/infills-in-dash-pc

If that doesnt work, i sugjest contactinmg a local PC reair man near you or contact Cartft.
    http://www.cartft.com/aboutus/contact

They sell and have sold lots of infill units in the past.
Or maybe a find forum reader soon can offer you better help.

    I wish you good luck
