Take hardware out of car or sell with car?

I was wondering if I decide to sell my car, should I sell it with the Carputer or should I take some stuff out?

How much more could I sell the car with the PC? $?

My next car will also have a Carputer.

It is very unlikely that you will find somewone who will appreciate it or even know how to use it not to mention maintain it unless you sell your car on this board. Its hard enough to find somewone who appreciates a high performance stereo system and will pay you the extra money its worth.

    just my opinion

Best bet is to find someone on the internet who wants to buy it.

    Ebay or whatever.

I think I disagree with the other posters... If you're trying to sell a minivan or something to some middle aged overfed overpayed docile media-eating drivel spouting suburban putz they're probably right... But I'd bet a lot of people would love to buy a car with a built in carputer and would have no trouble understanding it. There are way more people who *understand* computers then there are people who both understand them and have the motivation to build them into things (like cars). In addition to that, what is one of the largest markets for buying cars (especially used ones)? Young males. And a stupider, easier to impress lot has never been. Your average 18 year old high school male would go nuts for something like that whether he knew how to spell computer or not, and you could easily milk him for all the dough his fat cat parents had.

    My 2 cents:

Why don't you advertise it as an "option".

I think it's going to be 500 more for the car with the CarPC.

And 500 less, if I take it out.

That car with a custom MP3 Player will sell at least for $500 dollars more i'd say. Plus if your car ain't up to snuff like little dings and such, young hopefull's will easily overlook them. Never under estimate the people that will come to see your car. Definitely mention that it's a HD based unit not a cd type system. I forgot what your system looked like, and your WWW is not working for me.
